What a luxury sitting is. Pelvic tumors keep me from sitting for over 3 years now. Try not sitting just for a day, and you'll see. Put spikes or tacks in your back pocket to experiment. No chairs does help your spine though, for sure.

Dont think I'll replacing sitting with squatting in public any time soon (there was talk of us getting those hipster standing desks in the office which would have been nice to try). I will at least try squatting at home though I fear I'm just transferring stress from my spine to my knees.

We had a poem in our high school syllabus. I think it was from Wordsworth. The title was youth and age. In all honesty age plays it’s own role whatever we do. Improving standing posture can of course improve our lifestyle. At the end of the day, it’s all about lifestyle management.

Wish there was more information and studies. And direct correlations made between sitting down and other disorders. He could've mentioned muscular atrophy, depression, decreased testosterone/energy, slower metabolism, etc. But nope... Didn't hear any of that lol. He also should've had a counterclaim saying "however, standing too long also has negative effects" He's also just... Boring. He doesn't even seem fully convinced on his claims

So if pressing heels together is this hack for standing straighter, what are the other movement hacks? Also, weren't we always told to have an s shaped spine? So that it's straight posture and balanced over all? I think I actually squat better than most so it's other areas I'm too tight in like the obliques... and that def came in part spending years leaning on a desk with the left elbow, twisting upper body and holding mouse while slouched. Not good. Even aware it's very difficult.

I dont so much value childhood because for me it didnt matter what I did everything is useless. untill you click to a certain point, everything before is just reasons to act in your future. depending on the level and grace, the person chooses to act in self worth or self preservation.

Actually, Ether Gokhale's book discourages the arched back position depicted by that 3-yr old. Rather, she endorses what she calls 'stacksitting', where the lumbar spine is aligned, not bent. She also describes 'hip hinging'.
